On 22 October, the Government announced changes to the Immigration Rules: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/statement-of-changes-to-the-immigration-rules-hc-813-22-october-2020
There will be four new immigration routes:
- Hong Kong British National (Overseas)
- Skilled Worker
- S2 Healthcare Visitor
- Service Providers from Switzerland
There will also be changes to the existing Immigration Rules under the following headings:
- Suitability requirements
- Afghan Interpreter
- EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS)
- Visitors
- Short-term Study
- Students
- Parent of a Child Student
- Intra-Company Transfer
- Global Talent
- Other work routes
- Validity requirements
- English language, finance and Knowledge of Life in the UK requirements
- Administrative review
- Sham Marriage Scheme and marriage visit visas
- Appendix FM for family applications
- Turkish ECAA applications
Most changes will take effect on 1 December 2020. The new visa category for British Nationals (Overseas) will start from 31 January 2021.
