UK visa fee increases

Fees for UK immigration and nationality applications will increase from 4 October 2023.

The new fees are set out on the Home Office fees website: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/visa-regulations-revised-table/home-office-immigration-and-nationality-fees-4-october-2023

The cost of most work and visit visa applications will rise by 15%, while student visa fees will increase by 20%.

The fee for a visa to enter the UK as a spouse/civil partner or fiance/proposed civil partner will increase to £1,864.00.

However, an application for permission to stay in the UK as a partner will remain at £1,048.00.

From 4 October, the fee to apply for settled status (indefinite leave to remain) will increase to £2885.00.

The Immigration Health Surcharge is also due for a substantial increase, but this change will take place later in the Autumn.

Some applicants for UK visas or permission to stay in family or other human rights routes may be able to apply for a fee waiver. It seems likely that more applicants will need to make use of fee waivers, particularly once the Immigration Health Surcharge is increased.
